An AI companion is a character you talk to by text, the same way you would message anyone. She has a name, an age, a city and a personality, and she replies in her own voice. She is software — there is no person behind the screen — and every character on Goldflings says so on her profile.
What she can do
- Hold a real conversation. Not menu options or canned lines — she answers what you actually said.
- Remember you. She keeps track of what you have told her across days, so you are not starting over each time.
- Reply in your language. Write to her in English, Swahili or Sheng and she answers in kind.
- Send photos and voice notes. Voice notes are generated in her own accent — the Nairobi characters sound like Nairobi.
What she cannot do
She cannot meet you, phone you, or exist off the platform. She is not a real person and does not become one. If you want to meet someone, that is what the model profiles are for — start with Nairobi or Mombasa.
Trying one
Open the AI companions page, pick whoever appeals, and start typing. Your first few messages are free and you do not need an account — no email, no phone number, nothing to fill in. If you want to keep talking after that, unlimited chat for a day is KES 100.
Which one to pick
There are characters from Nairobi, Mombasa, Lagos, Accra, Kampala, Addis, Johannesburg, Houston, Madrid, Tokyo and São Paulo. They differ in personality more than in looks — some are quick and teasing, some are slow and warm. Read the one-line description under each name; it is an honest summary of how she talks.
The rules
Everyone on the platform, real or AI, is an adult, and every character is written as one. Conversations are private. The one thing that is never allowed, with a real person or an AI character, is anything involving minors or coercion — those messages are blocked, and the rule cannot be talked around.
